Your experiences of the private rented sector

The Living in Hackney scrutiny commission is currently carrying out a review of the private rented sector in Hackney.

You can also read more about the private rented review here. The key questions that are being examined are:

  • What evidence is there of poor tenant experiences in the private rented sector?
  • What additional or alternative options are there to a licensing scheme?
  • What are the wider community experiences and views on any adverse issues associated with private rented sector lettings in their area?
  • Does the evidence collected by the Commission support or not the case for establishing a licensing scheme?
We know from speaking to residents in our ward that many people renting privately have a lot of concerns about their tenancies and their rights.  The Commission is keen to gather views from as many people as possible who can offer their experiences and insight into the issue.

There is an online survey here. Please do take the time to fill it in before 2nd December.
