The Council is currently consulting on its Biodiversity Action Plan - and the deadline for comments is 24th October.
Hackney is home to a wealth of wildlife, for instance our parks are already home to a number of important plants and animals including bats, house sparrows and Britain's rarest native tree the Black Poplar. All of these species are recognised in the BAP and plans put in place to enhance and protect such species and their habitats. People's gardens, local parks and road verges can also be a refuge for wildlife and a home to rare flowers.
The action plan is a strategic document bringing together our planned activities to protect and enhance our local wildlife.
