A quick follow up from the Community Advisory Panel meeting last week... Quite a few issues were raised in the meeting around dangerous dogs and anti social behaviour associated with street drinking. Out of control dogs has been a big issue on Smalley Road Estate and following the meeting we've asked Hackney Homes to make sure that their Estate Safety division are doing all they can to patrol this hot spot.
At the meeting, the priorities were also set for the local Safer Neighbourhood Team for the coming two months. These are:
- Kynaston Gardens and Avenue - street drinking and cycling
- Drug dealing
- Anti social behaviour on Smalley Road Estate
Sadly, the meeting was rather low on residents this month - it really is a useful way to hear about what the local police are doing to help tackle issues in our area and to help set their priorities.
For those of you interested in Hackney wide crime issues, there's a meeting of the Hackney Community Engagement Board this Weds 15th Sept at 6.30pm at Morley Hall, 125-127 Mare Street E8 3RH.
The HCEB is a resident led forum for the discussion of policing and community safety in the borough, and there are more details online here.
