Free screening of Crash

Young people in Hackney aged 15 and over, are invited to a free screening of the Oscar award-winning film “Crash”, featuring Ludacris, Matt Dillon, Sandra Bullock, Terrance Howard and Thandi Newton, on Friday 11 December 2009, 5-8pm, at Hackney Town Hall, Council Chamber.

The free screening has been organised by Hackney Democracy Ambassadors with support from the Council’s Youth Service. The film brings out prejudice and racial stereotypes in a plot where several stories interweave over two days involving a collection of inter-related characters. A debate around the film's key issues will follow the screening, which is restricted to young people aged 15 and over.

The event is funded under the Youth Opportunity Fund (YOF), part of the Government’s Aiming High for Young people strategy to increase the participation of young people in positive leisure time activities, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights.

To reserve a seat text or call: Mandy 07527 385680 or Fiona 07972 008927.
