Satchmo's

We attended a meeting organised by the new management at Satchmo's this morning with local residents on Palatine Road and Palatine Avenue to discuss noise nuisance from the venue and the serious incident two weekends ago. As you are no doubt aware, this venue has a history.

It was clear from the meeting that the management have some way to go in order to be adhering to the terms of their license, and residents have agreed to work with them to explain the impact that the breaches have on their quality of life and find a way forward to address these concerns.

A number of action points were agreed - making sure the doors are kepy closed along the side of the venue after 10pm; turning off the lights outside; making sure security guards are in place; making the front a designated smoking area; having a contract with a taxi firm so that visitors to the venue quickly leave when it closes.

The management also agreed to regular meetings with residents to keep addressing these concerns and try to ensure both a successful business and peace and reassurance for those who live nearby.
