There is a special meeting tomorrow - Thursday 11th June 7pm- at Hackney Town Hall, where residents can give their views on the spread of betting shops in Hackney.
There are more than 60 bookmakers in Hackney, which is over three times the local authority average. Currently, licensing and planning regulations do not leave much scope to take account of concern from local residents, elected members, or the Council when new betting shops seek to open up.
The Community Safety and Social Inclusion Scrutiny Commission is organising this special meeting and would like to hear from residents who may be concerned about the number of betting shops; customers of betting shops and operators.
To attend, or make a written submission, please contact Jarlath O’Connell at email@example.com or call 020 8356 3309.
