There has been a very active anti fascist local campaign in the run up to the European elections on 4th June. Due to the proportional representation system, the far right BNP need just 8% of the votes cast to win a London-wide seat and have representation in the European Parliament.
The Hackney Unites campaign is about encouraging people to vote in the Euro elections and show our opposition to fascism in all its forms. The 'Hope Not Hate' tabloid has been delivered across Stoke Newington Central (final rounds going out this weekend if you haven't got yours yet...)
This Saturday, a 'Candi-dating' event has been organised at 11am at the Old Fire Station on Leswin Road. Come along and quiz the Euro candidates to find out what they stand for.
