cleaner streets in Stoke Newington

Hackney Council is bringing in time banded collections for waste from businesses and residential properties on certain roads across Hackney. In Stoke Newington Central the following roads are affected:
  • Church Street
  • Stoke Newington High Street
  • Stoke Newington Road
  • Amhurst Road
  • Prince George Road
  • Evering Road
  • Manse Road
  • Rectory Road
Residents and businesses along these routes will only be allowed to place their waste out for collection at specified dates and times - this is designed to help keep our streets as clean as possible. If waste is put out on the streets outside the designated times, there will be enforcement action.

The proposals are on display at 263 Mare Street until 1st June during normal office hours. Signs will also be put on lamp posts advising of the times for presenting waste. The formal launch will start from 1st June 2009.
