Today is the first anniversary of every neighbourhood in the country having a dedicated team of police officers. Hackney was the second borough to have the full roll out.
Last week we met with our local Safer Neighbourhood Team to discuss a few issues that have been arising when we've been speaking to residents - in particular, concerns with premises on the A10, prostitution on Shacklewell Lane and problem areas for anti social behaviour in the ward. We regularly raise concerns with the local team - and please do contact them if is anything on your street that is causing you concern or come to one of the regular Community Advisory Panel meetings. Their full details are here.
You may have seen the recent Policing Pledge advertisements on the High Street, and as part of the pledge, the local team will respond within 24 hours. More details about the Policing Pledge here.
Hackney is also part of the Community Payback scheme. You can vote on which project you would like to be carried out here. None of the proposed projects are in our ward, but if you'd like to suggest an area, you can email the London Probation Service.
