About Stoke Newington Central ward

Stoke Newington Central is one of 19 wards in the London Borough of Hackney. The north of the ward contains part of Stoke Newington Church Street, and the southern boundary is at Somerford Grove estate (on the right hand side of Stoke Newington Road) and Princess May Road (on the left hand side of Stoke Newington Road. The A10 runs right through the centre of the ward.

There are two primary schools in Stoke Newington Central - William Patten on Church Street and Princess May School on Barretts Grove. There is also Horizon special school on Wordsworth Road. Stoke Newington Police Station is on the High Street.

There are three small estates in the area - Yorkshire Grove, Somerford and Shacklewell and Smalley Road, alongside smaller blocks scattered across the ward.

Stoke Newington High Street and Church Street are home to many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars, and is a great place to eat and enjoy yourself.
